This Week in Review | The Eighteenth

Happy Monday everyone!

Another week has passed by, and sometimes it honestly feels that each brings more challenges and distractions. Oh well… life is life. We just have to roll with the punches and make the best out of what we got!

Here are a few highlights from my week!

#WIPjoy:

Day 12: Share a chapter beginning you love:

Day 13: How do you want readers to view the protagonist at the beginning? At the end?

Day 14: Share a line where a character tries something new:

Day 18: Share a chapter end you love:

In Entertainment:

Bates Motel: I finally got around to watching the fourth season finale. I’ve fallen a bit behind on most of my shows. After a whopper of a penultimate episode, the finale just brings the season to a close with the same energy! Farmiga and Highmore were on top form all the way through! It’s a shame this show doesn’t get more notice during awards season.

Hamilton: It’s been a long time coming, but I finally bought the soundtrack for this brilliant Tony award-winning broadway musical and it has stolen my heart. Lin Manuel-Miranda is a genius and a gift to us. We are fortunate that he has chosen to share his talent with us! I really want to get down to New York to watch it, even though Lin will be gone by the time I can get tickets.

Kaleo: No Good has been playing all over the radio since it was used in HBO’s Vinyl. The whole album is a wonderful collection of fresh rock tunes! An amazing group you should definitely check out 🙂

In Life:

Father’s Day was wonderful! We had a barbecue at my house to celebrate my dad and Papa. It got a little hot outside, but we could retreat into our air conditioned home for a break every now and then! I gave my father a book on Winston Churchill which he was extremely happy for! My dad is a big reader like me — he and my mom helped instill in my sister and myself a love of reading and writing from a young age. A lot of who I am today is because of them! Yep! I’m truly blessed!

That’s all from me today. Have a beautiful week!

Did you celebrate Father’s Day yesterday? Let me know about it if you did! Or let me know something special about this week!

May inspiration flow like ink upon your quill,

  1. Really nice that your dad is a reader like you. Sounds like you had a great Father’s day 🙂 I loved the fourth season of Bates Motel too and Norma and Norman did a great job. Shocking finale so I can’t wait for the final season. Have a great week ahead.

  2. Awww, sounds like you had a lovely Father’s Day with your dad and family. 🙂 I didn’t see my dad this weekend, since I had visited them the weekend before… But I’ll see him, Mom, and my brother this coming weekend, when we’ll celebrate Father’s Day as well as Dad’s birthday (June 27th).
