This Week in Review | 2017 the 2nd

Dear friends,

I hope you’ve all had a lovely week and a wonderful weekend!

Here’s just a quick look at what’s been keeping me busy! I`m keeping it really short, only because most of my week was consumed by work, my mom’s birthday, beta reading, critiquing and Sherlock! 😉

Eléonore Giveaway Winners

My giveaway for a signed copy of Eléonore ended on Friady, and I picked not one but TWO winners. Congratulations again to China and Sara! Two very talented writers in their own right!

My Writing Projects

This week, my focus has been squarely placed on Heritage, my 2015 NaNoWriMo novel about a young girl, Peggie, who embarks on a grand adventure with her grandmother! It’s a YA fantasy story and I’m kind of in love with it ❤ I’m nearly done editing this first draft! I should be done in an hour or two and then I’ll set her aside until next month or March to edit the second draft. My plan is to have her in a publisher’s hand before year end! We’ll see how that goes.

Here’s a small excerpt:

The moon beckoned me to the window and I heeded its call, my fiddle held close to my chest.

Pressing myself against the glass, I stared up at the luminous orb and waited for it to inspire within me a song. It was not long before it came.

I raised my fiddle to rest against my shoulder, my chin cradling it, to keep it secure in place. Then, I bade her to sing.

Back and forth, I drew my bow against the strings in a swaying motion. With ease, they obeyed me, uttering a subdued tone that echoed through my small room.

A hymn of solemn remembrance, it was not the song I had anticipated, but it was the one in my heart.
